Keep the flames crisp and the tank clean with Aquafire Tank Guard Cleaning System. Standing water is the enemy of any water vapor fireplace. Biofilm forms in the tank, hard water leaves mineral deposits on the mist maker and mist tubes, and both show up as weak flames, reduced mist, and musty odors. Aquafire Tank Guard is a two-part hypochlorous acid cleaning system built specifically for Aquafire water vapor fireplaces. Part 1, Flush, goes into a drained tank to break down organic buildup and mineral deposits, clear odors, and open up the mist maker, mist tubes, and internal plumbing. Agitate, soak 15 minutes, drain. Part 2, Fortify, goes into the refilled tank and stays active during normal operation, holding water quality and controlling biofilm until the next cleaning.
Hypochlorous acid is the right chemistry for a device that turns tank water into room air. It is naturally occurring, the same compound white blood cells produce, and it breaks down into harmless saline. Unlike bleach, it works at low concentration, stays gentle on metals, and releases no pungent fumes. That matters twice over here: it protects the ultrasonic mist maker and metal plumbing that bleach would attack, and it keeps what you breathe clean. A full cleaning takes about 30 minutes. Use it every six months for residential installations, quarterly for commercial. For heavy buildup, the mist maker can be soaked directly in Tank Guard and brushed with a soft toothbrush.
