Good fireplace, fairly lifelike. Glare on the glass is somewhat of a distraction but overall satisfied. Wish it had some crackling sounds, fan on with heat is fairly quiet. I considered it an easy install, but I have quite a bit of construction experience. Was concerned about sharing a 15 amp circuit but everything seems to be working ok even with other things running on the circuit.

Easy install, easy adjustments, user friendly, both faceplates are easy to swap out around the edging. Love it.

My only complaint was the larger trim is not as nice as the smaller trim. Does not fit as well. It’s hard to see but that would be my only issue. Definitely a high quality looking fire.

This is the 2nd Modern Flames 42" Redstone series fireplace I bought for my home. This one went on back covered porch (I live in FL). Was extremely happy with the original 42" one I purchased last year so I knew what I was getting. Would recommend to anyone. Only wish it had a small speaker option for crackling fire sounds. But I adapted and bought a portable unit (under $ 20) that creates some crackling noise like a fire would.

We wanted to get away from burning and gas in our fireplace so we decided to try electric. We like this unit but we have some suggestions that would make it a lot more satisfactory. 1. Switch to non-reflective glass. 2. Add logs along the bottom to block seeing the flames coming up from the floor. 3. Remove the red power light. 4. Modify the log configuration to make it more realistic. 5. Creating a speed setting that modulates the flame from slow to fast. 6. Add a crackling sound. The insert is okay but how it operates is annoying. One has to set the temperature every time it is turned off then back on. THE REMOTE IS THE CHEAPEST, EASILY LOST, PIECE OF PLASTIC!!! It is flimsy plastic 1/4” thick 1.5 wide x 3.25” long. For the price of the insert I would think the company could invest in a little more plastic at the very least.

I didn't want an electric fireplace. I wanted gas. My husband convinced me that this was the smart choice. We had an antique mantle. We put it in the mantle and had a piece of wood custom carved with the silhouette of our nearby mountain range to put beneath it. I have to admit, it's beautiful. I didn't expect the black glass pieces that emulate glowing coals on the bottom, but that may be my favorite part. It's also functional, with the option for heat or none. I'm glad I chose a quality product. It's gorgeous - see?
